GOD’S SALVATION PLAN
In the beginning, God created people to join Him in a loving
relationship.
He created us in His image and likeness so that we would know Him
and rule the earth as His partners – doing His will here as it is in
Heaven!
1) God’s PLAN: Eternal
Life – a relationship with Him
To live in a
loving relationship with God forever
“God so loved the world, that He
gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes
in Him may not perish, but have
eternal life” (John 3:16)
But Adam & Eve distrusted God. Disobedience broke this loving
relationship for all of us.
Sin entered the world, corrupting everything God created, especially
people.
Everyone since Adam is born with a sinful nature that keeps us sinning
and traps us
in self-centeredness & condemnation. We end up hiding from our only
true friend…God!
2) Man’s PROBLEM: Sin
– severed relationship and death
Our rebellion
in sin leads to eternal death in hell
“For the wages of sin is death,
but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom 6:23)
Jesus is God’s only solution for our sin problem! He died on the cross
as our substitutional sacrifice: He paid sin’s penalty by His own death
and
frees us from sin’s power by the
conversion of spiritual rebirth. The Holy Spirit recreates
as new people with new natures that are holy and alive to God. He
dwells in us, progressively changing our motives, desires, thoughts, decisions
and actions to reflect this conversion.
3) God’s PROVISION: Jesus
– God’s Way, Truth, Life
Jesus’ birth,
life, death, resurrection, ascension provide
the only way
back to a loving relationship with God
“But God demonstrates His own
love toward us, in that
while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us” (Rom 5:8)
But in order for Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross to save us
individually,
we must repent of our sin and profess our faith in Him alone as our
Savior and Lord.
4) Man’s PROFESSION: Repent
of sin; Believe in Jesus
We must
respond in repentance & faith in
Jesus Christ
as our personal Savior & Lord
“…if you confess with your mouth
Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart
that God raised Him from the dead, you shall
be saved” (Rom 10:9)
Please let us know if you received salvation by trusting Jesus as your
personal Savior today!
